Nov. 26: "There are bad people everywhere."

Posted Tuesday, January 6, 2009, at 1:36 PM

Robert Taylor traveled through South America from Nov. 24- Dec. 29. While there, he kept a journal. Each blog entry is an entry from that journal, posted daily (excluding weekends and a few other days), as it was written while he traveled.

These words ran though my head as I was getting ready to walk though the city by myself today.

Tara said them yesterday when talking about the people here. She said she hadn't had any problems and everyone seemed friendly and nice. But, "There are bad people everywhere," she warned.

These words stuck out to me because I had a similar thought yesterday when interacting with the taxi driver. "I've long believed, "there are good people everywhere."

While our two thoughts vary in one word, they mean a great deal of different things. Her phase assumes everyone is moslty good, with a few expections. My phase assumes most people are bad with the same number of expections.

I like her way of thinking better.
