Traveling Disaster!!!

Posted Friday, July 25, 2008, at 4:46 PM

Finally i made it to santiago! on the downside i havent figured out how to use my laptop yet and this keyboard is really different, so excuse my mistakes. my original flight itenerary was supposed to be 22 hours of traveling, but i wound up being in transition for about 48. my flight from boise to salt lake was fine, but from there my flight to atlanta was cancelled, so they rerouted me to denver with only a 40 minute layover in atlanta. wehn i found out my flight was to be delayed 45 minutes i was just starting to break into tears when i ran into another student headed to the same college as me, so from there on out we have travelled together.

So my new friend, josh, and i finally made it to atlanta where we found out the santiago flight was also delayed, but we missed it by fifteen minutes. So now we were stuck in atlanta for the next twenty hours. from there we waited and argued in a line untill 2 am to be told we were approved for two free hotel rooms, but that the last room had been booked. in complete exasperation we walked away to find some food, but as we sat down to eat a lady ran up to me and told me that they had found some empty rooms, so i ran back to the desk and got one two bed room for the two of us... well now i had a place to sleep, but was sharing a room with a complete stranger.

we got checked into the hotel about three am, then to top it all off as the best day of my life, i realized i had packed no pants or pajamas in my carry on!!!!

Well i have an orientation meeting to get to, but later tonight i will edit this blog and post another about my travels through Atlanta and Santiago.

Chao!
