WECRD needs to keep us better informed

Dear editor,

What is the status of the indoor swimming pool? I see a lot of updates on the railroad park project but never an update on the indoor pool.

Personally, I’ve been paying into the “pool” project from the start, and it seems that whoever is in charge of the pool owes the citizens of Mountain Home an update every two weeks on the progress and an accountability of where our money to this project is going.

Maybe we should be looking in a different direction and perhaps trying to get a YMCA to take it over and help the entire community. Even the small town where I grew up on the coast has a YMCA that offers year-round programs to all ages.

I don’t ever see the indoor pool being completed, certainly not in my lifetime. I don’t think it’s asking too much for an update every two weeks.
