Officials break ground on park project

Soil goes flying through the air as city officials, business owners and community officials take part in a ground breaking ceremony last week to officially mark the beginning of the Railroad Park Plaza project.

A symbolic gesture representing an ongoing effort to restore elements of Mountain Home’s historic past brought together dozens of people from the community as they witnessed the start of a project aimed at revitalizing Railroad Park.

Shovels chewed their way into the soil located along a stretch of the local park as Mayor Rich Sykes teamed up with city officials, business leaders and representatives from various community organizations to fling this soil into the air during a ground-breaking ceremony held Jan. 14.
