High school event honors Mountain Home’s veterans

Local military veterans and their spouses listen as retired Chief Master Sgt. Allen Niksich speaks at the Veterans Day event at Mountain Home High School on Nov. 11. During his speech, Niksich highlighted the memory of Ray Sulfridge, a local military veteran who served during World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War.

Students at Mountain Home High School paused to honor the memory of military veterans in the Mountain Home community as they took part in a Veterans Day program on Nov. 11.

Coinciding with similar events held in the Mountain Home area and in communities and across the United States, the program began as veterans gathered in Lloyd Schiller Gymnasium to enjoy a lunch provided by Goodwood Barbecue with a variety of desserts served by students from the high school’s culinary arts program.
