Giving Mountain Home a ‘clean sweep...’

Madison Arellano, a Girl Scout from Troop 968 in Mountain Home, rakes up leaves that covered the lawn of a home on South 5th East Street as others from the local Scout troop work to tidy up other areas around the home during this year’s “Rake Up Mountain Home” event on Saturday.

More than 240 volunteers representing local schools, businesses and youth organizations took time that day to tidy up about two dozen homes across town. The homes selected this year were based on those with elderly residents and those with disabilities that keep them from being able to clear their yards of all the leaves and other debris that settle on their property as the seasons begin to change.
