Community gathers at tree festival

Nyle Norris, Rota Olson and Carrie Darkes, who serve as members of the local Alpha Delta Kappa teacher sorority, join forces to finish decorating the tree they planned to auction off during this year’s pre-holiday community fundraiser.

The spirit of giving began on Saturday as people gathered at the community Elks Lodge during the 16th Annual Mountain Home Festival of Trees.

This family-friendly event for all ages featured a number of holiday trees that representatives from various clubs and community organizations took time to decorate in the hours leading up to this year’s festival.
