The impact of the federal government’s ongoing shutdown on airmen stationed at Mountain Home Air Force as well as their families highlighted one of the key topics addressed by senior leaders at the base during town hall meetings held earlier this month.

The current federal shutdown began just after midnight Oct. 1 after lawmakers on Capitol Hill failed to resolve a budget dispute while they worked to iron out the details of a new budget that was scheduled to take effect at the start of the new fiscal year.
