Phyllis “Suann” McDonald

January 30, 1955 – September 22, 2025
Phyllis Suann McDonald, 70, of Nampa, Idaho, passed away on September 22, 2025, peacefully at home, surrounded by family after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
She was born on January 30, 1955, in Jerome, Idaho, to Phyllis and Gordon Lenninger. Suann was later raised by her mother and stepdad Paul Anderson. Growing up, she shared many years with her siblings: Patti Allen “Her best friend” (Buddy Allen), Janice Huebert, Betty Ward
And the following siblings who proceeded her in death. Ron Heffner, Roland Kurtz, Bonnie Jackson, Donna Pharris, Jeff Lenninger, and two infant brothers.
Suann graduated from Glenns Ferry High School in the class of 1973. After graduating high school, she attended ITT technical Institute in Boise.
On April 20, 1974, she married Rex McDonald. Together they built a beautiful life and raised two children, Tiffany Hergert (Sean Hergert) and Josh McDonald (Alyson McDonald).
She was a devoted Mom and Gramma, and later a proud Great Gramma. Her grandchildren include Maddie Hergert, Morgan (Braden) Cureton, Mylee Hergert, Makinlee Hergert, Karsen McDonald, and her only grandson, Hudson McDonald, along with her great-granddaughter Charlotte Cureton.
Her family was the most important part of her life. She was proud of them, loved them unconditionally and looked forward to spending time together.
Suann was known for her creative spirit and her ability to make ordinary moments feel special. She loved crafting, specifically designing and creating beautiful, meaningful touches for holidays and family gatherings. One of her most beloved traditions was her Christmas stocking gift-giving. She did not just fill a stocking; she made it an event all its own — often including an extra bag of surprises and thoughtful goodies that became legendary among her family.
She had many friends who loved, laughed, and enjoyed her company.
Her kindness, generosity, humor, and the way she made everyone feel loved will be deeply missed. Her legacy lives on in the traditions she created and the hearts she touched.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, October 19, 2025, from 1:00–4:00 p.m. at Lake Side Barn, 13091 Lake Shore Dr, Nampa, ID 83686.
Family and friends are invited to join in honoring and remembering her remarkable life.
