This year’s parade featured 104 entries representing units based at Mountain Home Air Force Base as well as local civic groups, businesses and other organizations in the local area.

Rain began drizzling across Mountain Home on Saturday morning as people continued to set up their chairs and blankets lining the city’s streets. However, the weather didn’t stop these thousands of people from gathering as they paused to pay tribute to the nation’s military during a community celebration.

Celebrating its 65th anniversary, Air Force Appreciation Day represents one way the local community honors those who serve this nation. Featuring this year’s theme of “A Sapphire Salute to our Air Force,” the event pays tribute to the men and women serving at Mountain Home Air Force Base as well as the military veterans who live in this community.
