Following a century of support to military veterans and their families in the Mountain Home area, people in the community gathered to officially celebrate the creation of an organization that continues to support those who served in the U.S. armed forces.
Marking exactly 100 years to the day it first activated, the centennial event held Aug. 8 at American Legion Post 26 served as the opportunity for veterans who served during World War II, the Korean and Vietnam wars as well as the Gulf wars and associated conflicts in Europe to talk, reminisce and compare their experiences with those who gathered there that evening.
