Elements of Elmore County’s past and its role in helping guide pioneers across the Oregon Trail gained the spotlight on Saturday as state historians and Idaho park representatives celebrated a milestone in preserving this element of state history.

People from across the state gathered at the Three Island Crossing State Park near Glenns Ferry as they took part in the 25th anniversary of the opening of the Oregon Trail History and Education Center at the park.
