Man arrested following shooting incident in Glenns Ferry

A man remains in custody at the Elmore County Detention Center following his arrest in connection with a shooting incident in Glenns Ferry on Aug. 4.

Information collected by the Mountain Home News indicated that the incident began after the suspect got into an argument with another individual around 4:20 p.m.

As that conversation worsened, the suspect drew a weapon and shot the other man in the chest. As deputies from the Elmore County Sheriff’s Office arrived on scene, they took the suspect into custody without further incident.

The victim was transported by air ambulance to a hospital in Boise for treatment of their injuries and was reported to be in stable condition, said Sheriff Mike Hollinshead in a press release shared with the Mountain Home News.

The sheriff’s office was unable to release additional information regarding this case, including the name of the suspect and the victim, while the investigation continued.

In the press release, the sheriff’s office assured citizens in the Glenns Ferry area there were no signs of additional dangers to the public as a result of this shooting incident. They also emphasized that all individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
