USDA releases school meal guidelines

Families in Mountain Home and communities across the local area need to meet guidelines released last week by the U.S. Department of Agriculture for their school age children to qualify for free- or reduced-price breakfast and lunch meals served at their schools once the new academic year begins in August.

Officials with the U.S. Department of Agriculture released information last week regarding income guidelines families in Mountain Home and communities across Idaho need to meet to qualify for free and reduced-price meals for the upcoming school year.

Every year, the Idaho Department of Education Child Nutrition Programs announces the income guidelines for free and reduced-price meals for students in schools operating the National School Lunch and School Breakfast Programs as well as free milk offered in schools running the Special Milk Program.
