Clinic PA’s departure is very sad news

Wednesday, July 23, 2025

I, along with the rest of the community are so distressed to hear that Mark Merrell PA, our physician assistant at the Glenns Ferry clinic, is leaving. Mark has been a valuable asset to our community for the past 13 years.

He is so involved with the kids and school, the theater as well as the city council and has made himself a well-known advocate of all events in our community.

I have lived in Glenns Ferry all my life, and we were here when the first clinic originated here. My husband served on a committee when the city was with the clinic before it had a board.

Does a CEO and clinic board know how important it is to have a PA that will live in our community, buy a home, raise their children here, not to mention love it here? Mark developed a personal relationship with all of his patients, has been here long enough to know his patients’ histories and because of that is best able to treat their needs.

It is our fault, as the founding community, to suffer this loss because Mark helped build a brand-new clinic. We feel abandoned and if we have to suffer the loss of our PA and friend. We will know you have also abandoned the community where you got your start. We pray this is not a done deal and that you listen to the people of our community.

– Cheryl Rose, Glenns Ferry
