Bruneau Elementary School to remain open another year

Plans to keep Bruneau Elementary School open during the upcoming school year come as district officials focus their efforts to keep the Bruneau-Grand View School District financially healthy and remain focused on its mission to educate children and teens living in this rural area, said district superintendent Jeff Blaser.

Plans to close an elementary school in the rural school district south of Mountain Home remained on hold for one more year as plans continued to consolidate classrooms at its two elementary schools into one building.

During a public meeting July 8, members of the Bruneau Grand View School District’s board of trustees unanimously voted to keep its elementary school in Bruneau open during the 2025 to 2026 school year as district officials looked at taking steps needed to close it before the 2026 to 2027 school year starts.
