Nearly 50 years after a fire swept through a relic from Idaho’s pioneer days and sent it crumbling to the ground, work continues to restore this chapter of Elmore County’s history.
Over the past 10 years, teams of researchers, archeologists and others in Idaho dedicated their time and efforts to rebuild the historic Canyon Creek Stage Station, which represents one of the last remaining structures in the county directly connected to the Oregon Trail.
