Child injured in shooting incident

A child sustained minor injuries as a result of a bullet that hit a vehicle on the interstate Saturday afternoon.

Elmore County sheriff’s deputies and county emergency responders were dispatched to the highway near milepost 114 around 1:47 p.m. that day following a report of an object that pierced the vehicle’s front windshield and injured a toddler before it exited through the rear window.
