City council approves local code revision

The city’s current code limits families in Mountain Home to raise no more than three chickens on their property. During the June 10 meeting, the city council approved plans to increase that number to no more than five chickens.

Proposed changes to a section of the city code regarding the number of chickens people in Mountain Home can keep on their property represented another topic members of the city council addressed during a public meeting June 10.

The discussion on this segment of the city code came after representatives from non-profit groups in the local community started the first in a series of presentations regarding the city’s financial support of these organizations at the start of the new fiscal year Oct. 1.
