End violence, hold people accountable

Wednesday, June 25, 2025

So far, the damage already exceeded $800 million as the riots continue in Los Angeles and other communities across the United States. In addition to people deliberately setting fire to cars and the private property of others, at least 23 businesses in Los Angeles had criminals deliberately break into these shops and stores and steal whatever they could grab.

And yet, we have elected officials who have yet to condone these illegal actions that cost so many innocent people a tremendous amount of money and endangered their lives.

For example, news reports showed Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass was furious about what she referred to as “reckless ICE raids.” However, nowhere did I ever read anything in which she expressed the same anger toward all the rioteers who did everything they could to vandalize and destroy people’s vehicles and other private property.

I’m betting good money this same mayor will do everything she can to avoid compensating all of these businesses and people who lost their property due to the illegal actions of these reckless rioteers. Instead, she’ll do what a lot of people with the same political beliefs try to do instead – she’ll spend her time repeatedly blaming her political rivals versus standing up and telling these rioters to stop this non-stop violence.

At least for now, the riots there are nowhere near as bad as they got five years ago when people in Minneapolis staged a series of protests, riots and demonstrations. It all began after a police officer was charged and later convicted of taking actions that led to the death of George Floyd.

The violence that ensued following that incident of what the news media repeatedly referred to as “police brutality” caused approximately $1 to $2 billion in insured damages in communities across this nation within just two weeks. To this day, those deliberate actions perpetrated by those who refused to act responsibly in accordance with established laws represent the highest amount of recorded damage related to civil disobedience in U.S. history.

However, that doesn’t begin to factor in the number of people who lost their lives back in 1992 when people in Los Angeles saw a number of staged protests that turned into unprecedented violence following the outcome of the trial involving Rodney King. All of that began after a jury acquitted four Los Angeles police department officers facing charges of using excessive force when they arrested King.

During those riots, this nation saw 63 people die with nearly 2,400 people suffering various injuries. In addition, police arrested more than 12,000 people for committing these illegal actions.

That doesn’t even take into account the $800 million to $1 billion in damage connected to those riots as well.

After reviewing all of these illegal actions this nation saw over the past three decades, there’s one thing I never saw reported. Nowhere did I ever see anyone having to pay for all of the damages they caused nor did I ever see anyone held accountable for taking the lives of those caught in the midst of all of that violence.

It’s almost as if those who illegally deprived others of their rights were someone allowed to remain free of having to repay society for what they illegally committed.

Here’s something else to consider. The actions involving the nation’s Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency are simply trying to get people to follow the rules of this nation.

You know, the laws we’re supposed to follow.

Instead of illegally entering this nation, our nation’s leader wants people to follow this country’s laws and take the time to follow the procedures to become a legal citizen. It’s the same laws my grandfather and my great uncle took when they immigrated from the nation of Hungary and came to the United States nearly a century ago.

Having looked at what we’re currently seeing on the news, there were clear signs these riots didn’t magically appear out of nowhere. There were indications someone provided these rioteers with various materials needed to destroy the property of others all because they somehow disagreed with our president.

Several reports I read last week indicated at least one of these so-called activist groups had direct ties to a Chinese-based organization that reportedly was providing the money needed to stage these riots.

The question is why would the people of that nation be willing to do this.

The answer comes down to the fact that China continues to represent a clear and present threat to the United States and its allies. Instead of being willing to work together and reach peaceful agreements, it appears the Chinese government is somehow believing they are more important than any nation on Earth.

Gee, I wonder what would happen if other organizations on this planet started paying people to start riots in China. What do you think would happen?

Yeah, that’s what I thought as well. Those rioteers would either spend the rest of their lives in prison or simply end up dead.

Here’s something else to consider. What would happen if these rioters in our nation suddenly started setting fires to the mansions of all of the billionaires who have yet to denounce these criminal actions? How would these elitists respond if these same criminals broke into and tore up their luxury limousines, yachts and private jets they somehow felt entitled to have because they’re somehow more important than others in society?

Simply put, we need to put a stop to this violence and hold people accountable for their lawless actions. At the same time, those who provide the money necessary to commit these crimes against society need to get slapped with fines that would clearly put them out of power and leave them permanently bankrupt.

If anything, that would serve as a warning to future generations to respect one another.
