Idaho under consideration for radar site

Plans to boost the nation’s ability to detect threats posed by other nations prepare to take a step forward as a series of public hearings begin in Mountain Home and communities in Nevada and Oregon regarding the construction of defense radar systems in this part of the United States.

Information featured in a recent edition of the Federal Register highlighted plans to build Homeland Defense Over-The-Horizon Radar, or HLD–OTHR, transmission and receiver sites in the northwest region of the United States.
