Officials highlight base’s growth

Mountain Home Air Force Base expects to gain another 300 airmen and their families by this October with that number expected to grow by another 700 personnel by 2027 as the base gains additional squadrons, according to information presented by representatives from the Mountain Home Military Affairs Committee during their meeting with the city council.

Continued efforts to support Mountain Home Air Force Base and the airmen and military families stationed there represented a key topic addressed by city leaders as they met during a scheduled public hearing last week.

The discussion at the city council meeting focused on the information provided by members of the local Military Affairs Committee, who recently met with senior Air Force officials during their trip to Langley Air Force Base, Va., and the Pentagon in addition to meeting with Idaho’s congressional delegates on Capitol Hill.
