Dear Mountain Home News readers,

It’s far past time for this to be said. Are you familiar with the word “reciprocate?” Do you know or understand what it means? Do you apply or practice it?

I’ve reached a point (we all do) in my lifetime of 76 years to cease giving and sharing my thoughtfulness. No, I am not a cry baby. I’ve tried my hardest to help brighten someone’s day, whether it be a small gift, a compliment or to share a funny, short story.

When it is not reciprocated, after all these years, I’m thinking, “why keep beating a dead horse?”

It’s not the end of the world. Make new friends who feel as you do and move on.
