Our mayor refuses to host a town meeting

Dear editor –

Mayor Sykes will not commit to a public town hall meeting.

I have e-mailed Mayor Sykes three times requesting a public town hall for the citizens of Mountain Home with no response back from him.

The last time I reached out was for the “Monday's With the Mayor” event on March 17. My question submitted Friday, March 14, stated that the citizens of Mountain Home have asked me to see about getting a public town hall meeting with Sykes to address their concerns.

I asked him to please advise me so I can let them know what the mayor's response was or that he could let citizens know during his social media broadcast.

All I got was crickets. My question was not presented during the broadcast.

Why? What is Mayor Sykes afraid of?
