Paul Anthony Deschene
Paul Anthony Deschene passed away peacefully on August 28, 2024, at his home in Mountain Home, Idaho. Paul, or "Cyclone" as his uncle used to call him, was born May 6, 1938, in Lawrence, Massachusetts to Leo and Virginia Deschene. As he grew up, he spent many days fishing at the ocean and enjoying the beach.
Paul's original plan upon graduation was to go to college but on a whim, he and a friend signed up for the Marine Reserves where he spent 13 months before transferring to the U.S. Air Force where he served his country during the Vietnam War as an Aircraft Avionics Technician under the nickname "Duke" before retiring after 22 years of service. He then spent the next 19 years working for Hewlett-Packard.
April 26, 1958, would see Paul marrying Elaine Berube in Denver, Colorado where he was stationed. Together, they would travel to many different places around the country and even spend a few years in Germany until finally settling down in Mountain Home, Idaho where they finished raising their 4 children. In his spare time, Paul could be found hunting or fishing throughout Idaho. He also enjoyed building model airplanes, playing action shooter games on his PC, or sharing stories with his family about his time growing up and his travels with the military.
He was preceded in death by his wife and both of his parents. He is survived by his four children Michael Deschene, Scott Deschene, and Jennifer Deschene of Mountain Home, Idaho, and Timothy Deschene of Nampa, Idaho. Also surviving him is his sister Virginia Fortin of Dracut, Massachusetts, 3 nieces, 10 grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren.
A memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am Monday, September 9, 2024 at Rost Funeral Home with burial to follow at Mountain Home Cemetery.
