With the nation continuing to face dangerous heat levels as people across the country complete their summer travel plans, American Red Cross officials reported an emergency shortage of blood needed to save people.
Since July 1, the national blood supply fell by more than 25 percent, prompting the Red Cross to urge citizens to help donate blood, especially those with type O blood, as soon as possible to help patients receive life-saving medical care.
