Suspicious Package leads to school lockdown

Glenns Ferry, Idaho – On April 25, 2024, at 1053 hours, Glenns Ferry City employees discovered a suspicious backpack in the Glenns Ferry Park, leading to a swift response from local law enforcement. Concerns arose over the potential presence of a bomb, prompting the implementation of security measures to ensure public safety.

As soon as it was located, Glenns Ferry City employees, along with Elmore County Deputies promptly secured the area to a safe distance. In an abundance of caution, the nearby Glenns Ferry School was placed on a “soft” lockdown.
