One of the holidays that has been celebrated by both secular and Christian communities is none other than Easter. This holiday is one that has meanings all the way back to pagan roots. There are many similar aspects in the pagan and the Christian circles, such as the importance of eggs, and the word ‘Easter.’

The Christian celebration of spring is closely tied to Easter, and has many other significant days surrounding it. There is ‘Mardi Gras’ which is 41 days ahead of Easter and marks the last day before Lent. Mardi Gras has become a wide celebrated holiday that is no longer closely associated with many Anglo-Saxon’s traditions, however it is a reminder that the following Wednesday is important.
