Prescription Drugs: What To Know When Traveling

Are you going on vacation and wondering how to avoid issues with your medication? Here’s what you should do to evade potential problems.

For starters, it’s always best to take more medication than you need. If your stay is extended (due to a delayed flight, for instance), you won’t run out. In general, you can bring up to 90 days worth of medication. If you’re gone longer than that, you’ll have to refill your medicines locally.

When traveling nationally, if you have a prescription, getting a refill shouldn’t be an issue as most pharmacies are easily able to top-up your meds.
