Local Veterans receive American Legion Heroism Medal and American Legion Valor Medal

On Dec. 28, 2023 Abe Abrahamson was on vacation with his wife Robin near Kingman, Arizona. They were driving down Highway 93 near the 68 junction when they saw a vehicle on fire on the side of the highway.

They pulled over, and Abrahamson set to action. There were already two men on the scene and he wanted to make sure that everyone was okay; that was when he learned that the driver was still in the burning vehicle. He had noticed that the engine compartment and the gas tank were already on fire, and wasted no time springing into action to pull the driver free before the fire became worse.
