Elmore County Health Commission: Jan 3, 2024 - With the busy holiday season at an end, it is easy to feel a sense of relief followed by feelings of sadness, loneliness, anxiety, irritability, trouble concentrating, lethargy, or various other sensations. This may be caused by residual holiday stress, financial strain, fatigue, unrealistic expectations, and other social/emotional constraints (1, 3).

If you feel any of these ways, you are not alone. 14% of American’s experience the “winter blues” (2). This brief article, produced by the Elmore County Health Coalition, reviews ways to manage symptoms to improve your mental health, as well as ways to get local, statewide, or national help.
