NOTE FROM THE EDITOR

Wednesday, December 20, 2023

A friendly reminder,

All Letters to the Editor are required to be no longer than 250 words, and submitted the Friday before the publication of the paper. Of late the Mountain Home News has been accepting up to 500 words.

As wonderful and exciting as it is to see so many people want to utilize the power of the paper and see citizens truly becoming invested and passionate, in the spirit of Christmas, we wanted to allow more room for those who wrote in to be heard. However, we must follow the limit moving forward.

Letters that were over the 500 grace limit where slightly edited at the permission of the original author. As the new year takes effect though, all letters submitted must fall at or under 250 words.

Additionally, all letters submitted are at the publishing discretion of the editor, and should you chose to submit a letter, you will have to verify that it is your letter. If you drop off a hand written letter, you will need to show id. If you email a letter, you will be contacted via telephone call.

Letters to the Editor cannot be a political forum for politicians, that is considered an advertisement, and thus must be paid for.

Please continue to send in your letters, the Mountain Home News wants to ensure that the citizens are heard and have a platform to speak.

Thank you
