Tanna L. Milburn

We had 75 beautiful years with Tanna L. Milburn who passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family in Kuna, Idaho, on Dec. 11, 2023. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, community member, and businesswoman.

Tanna will forever be remembered by her loving husband of nearly 43 years, retired Air Force officer Robert T. Milburn, Jr. She is also survived by their children, Robert Milburn III, Princess Young Linehan (Rick), Terrence Milburn, Angela Young, Andrea Mellen (Joseph), and Princess Young Hansen (Devin), along with her 10 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

Tanna was preceded in death by her parents, Mary Park & Norman Tufte, and her sister Sandy.

Born in 1948 (Grinnell, Iowa), she lived all across the country, visited all 50 U.S. states, and had an established career in banking. Educated at Chadron State College (Nebraska), she then moved into entrepreneurial endeavors ranging from real estate to janitorial services and tax return preparation. Perhaps one of her proudest professional accomplishments was establishing, funding, and running the fully-accredited Gem State College and Christian bookstore in Mountain Home, Idaho (1991-2001). With Robert by her side, they served hundreds of community members, helping them secure their degrees for continued success and opportunities.

Tanna loved laughing, meeting new people, and connecting with old friends. In her spare time, she traveled to 12 countries, and she invested time in her church and non-profit organizations including the Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership (HOBY) program. She also read, painted, acted, played hymns on the piano, and enjoyed time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Her family loves and misses her very much; unfortunately cancer took her away much too soon. She will forever live on in the hearts and memories of those who had the privilege of knowing her.

A memorial service to honor Tanna's life will be held on January 5, 2024, at Alsip & Persons Funeral Chapel (404 10th Ave S, Nampa, ID 83651) at 11 a.m. The funeral home is assisting with the arrangements, and all are welcome.

Tanna Milburn will be remembered for her determination, knowledge, eloquence, and her unwavering dedication to her family and community. She leaves behind a legacy of love and service.

The family expresses appreciation to the staff at St. Luke's Hospital, the St. Luke's Hospice staff, and the many nurses and physicians who participated in her medical care.
