12.15 UPDATE: Officials on scene of a gas leak at Walmart

2nd Update:

Walmart contacts have informed the Mountain Home News that natural gas odor that was reported was the result of an HVAC system issue. Maintenance teams were on site last night.

If more information arises the Mountain Home News will inform its readers by means of another article update.

1st Update:

Walmart has been deemed safe and is again open to the public.

Law enforcement and Mountain Home Fire Dept are on scene a the Walmart Store on American Legion Blvd. A gas leak was discovered this morning and officials are still unsure as to where the gas leak occurred precisely inside the building. As of 9:15AM fire responders were waiting for Intermountain Gas employees to come and assess the situation.

Fire Chief Moore stated that they would be inspecting the roof once the gas company arrives. All customers and employees were evacuated safely. Law enforcement has been released from the scene and the fire department will remain on scene.

More information to be released as soon as possible.
