Elmore County Commissioners are seeking residents’ input on how to address regional water needs.

Groundwater levels in the county have been declining for more than 40 years. This poses a big threat to the community because all the drinking water in the Mountain Home area comes directly from the aquifer. Without some sort of action, there could come a time when there isn’t enough water to keep up with the community’s growing demands.

Elmore County Commissioners are currently evaluating several solutions to address this problem and increase groundwater levels.
