Carol Colthorp Olds

Carol Olds passed away on November 8, 2023, with her family by her side. Carol was born on March 3, 1937, to Orville and Dollie Colthorp. She was raised on the Colthorp ranch North of Mountain Home.

Carol graduated from Mountain Home High School in 1955, then attended Links School of Business. Carol married Elmer Haydon and they had a daughter. They later divorced and she remarried in 1959 and they had a son.

Carol worked in various jobs around Mountain Home until she became Deputy Treasurer of Elmore County. Carol ran for the office of Elmore County Treasurer in 1976 and held that office until her retirement in 1998. Carol enjoyed working with all the county employees and especially playing practical hokes on everyone. She loved to tell stories of life on the ranch and the fun she had with her brother. Her greatest treasure was her family, her children, grandchildren, nieces, and nephew.

Carol is preceded in death by her parents Orville and Dollie Colthorp, son Wayne Olds and brother Clayton Colthorp. She is survived by her daughter Vonda Greer, her grandson Shane Woodland (Marie), great-grandchildren Abby, Aidan, and Aurelia. Nephew Steve Colthorp (Linda), nieces Sue Colthorp, Sherl Colthorp Brooks (Todd), Shelly Colthorp (Zeke).

A Graveside service will be held on November 16, 2023, 11:00 A.M. at Mt. View Cemetery in Mountain Home.
