Marion Monroe “Dusty” Whiteley was born September 25, 1951, in Mountain Home, Idaho to Monroe and Minnie Whiteley. He was the second to youngest of a rather large family. He lived his early years in Bruneau, then moved to Castleford, where he grew up. Dusty married his first wife and had two sons, Shane and Dustin while living there.

He was working on ranches around Castleford when he met Debbie Yturbe. They were married June 1, 1973. It was the beginning of a great friendship and many adventures beginning in Roseworth, then moving to Mayfield for 20 plus years where they raised their family, and finally settled on their own little piece of heaven outside of Mountain Home that served as their home base for their ranching operation.

Dusty’s dream was always to have his own his own cows. He and Debbie started their beef herd a single milk cow they purchased and were able to grow that cow to a nice sized herd that they run in Mayfield and Danskin Mountain. After retiring he was able to do what he always wanted, take care of his own cows, riding through them on his horses with his favorite dog “Bob.”

Dusty is preceded in death by his parents Monroe and Minnie Whiteley, 3 older sisters, 1 brother, and sons Shane and Jason. He is survived by his wife Debbie, his sons Dustin (Carla), Travis (Jennifer), Isaac (Cione), and daughters Wanda (Matt) Trevino, and Elisha Youngblood, 18 grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren, as well as his brother Gary (Charlene) Whiteley and sister Mary (Jeff) Beams.
