Bob Lormand (82) met His Savior on Monday, October 9, 2023 in Mountain Home, Idaho. Bobby Gene Lormand was born on March 10, 1941 to Samuel and Lavinia Lormand in Kinder, Louisiana and grew up in the Lake Charles area. He was the fourth of six children. Bob graduated from Marion High School (class of 1959) and then joined the U.S. Air Force. After basic training he was stationed at Portland Air Force Base in Portland, Oregon where he spent the next four years. He worked at Mountain Home AFB for 35 years.

Bob met the love of his life, Karen Patterson, and they married on January 18, 1963. This January they celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary!

After retirement, Bob and Karen enjoyed winters in Louisiana and Arizona with family. They attended two Fiesta Bowl games in Glendale, Arizona. Bob was a Boise State fan and a season ticket holder for many years.

During their 60 years together, Karen and Bob undertook many traveling adventures with her two sisters. They walked the Freedom Trail in Boston and many old cobblestone streets, toured the Mayflower, visited Jamestown, saw Plymouth Rock, and experienced countless other historical sites.

Bob is survived by his loving wife Karen and two sons Samuel (Annette) and Terry, grandchildren Alexandrea, Jacob, Madilyn, sister Bertha Watson, numerous brothers and sisters-in-law, and numerous nieces and nephews. Bob was preceded in death by parents Samuel and Lavinia, brother Felix, and sisters Myrtle Lee and Dorothy.

A Celebration of Life service for Bob was held at Christian and Baptist Church, located at 265 North 4th East, Mountain Home on Saturday, Oct. 14 at 11:00 a.m. with a reception luncheon following at the church. Graveside Service and inurnment were held at Mountain Home Cemetery at 2:00 p.m. on the same day.

Memorial donations in lieu of flowers may be made in Bob’s honor to Christian and Baptist Church or Ashley Manor. The family is grateful to caregivers at Ashley Manor who gave excellent care to Bob for the past four months.
