James “Jim” Terrell

James “Jim” Terrell, age 79, of Mountain Home, passed away on April 25, 2023, of

heart complications. Services will be held in September. Cremation is under the

care of Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel.

Jim was born on September 8, 1943 to Dorothy Lahtinen. Three years later

Dorothy married Jake Terrell who helped raise him and his two younger brothers.

He met and married Cheryl Ann Rogers in 1962 and had two children, Michael and

Leanna. After 27 years of married the two divorced and not long after Jim retired

from Idaho Power.

He had a long relationship with Carol Killian and they remained together up to his

death. He served for many years as a volunteer for the Mountain Home Fire

Department, and a proud member of the Elks Lodge. He loved to fish (with Stan)

and boy did he have the stories to go with them. Bowling was his hobby and

some of his best times with his friends. He was so proud to be a grandpa and

great-grandpa.

Jim is survived by his daughter Leanna (Rich) Jerrett, brothers Robert (Trini)

Terrell, and Thomas Terrell, grandchildren; Jennifer (Anthony) Velie and Stephanie (Scott) Teats, great-grandchildren Annalee and Abel Velie, uncle David(Barbara) Lahtinen, and many cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son Michael James Terrell, mother Dorothy Terrell and Jake Terrell
