Pete Berry, beloved husband, father, and granddad passed away at the age of 91 on April 16, 2023 in Boise, Idaho. A viewing will be held at Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel on Sunday, April 23, 2023 from 4:00pm to 6:00pm. Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 24, 2023, at the First Southern Baptist Church in Mountain Home at 11:00am and burial with military honors will follow at Mountain View Cemetery.

Pete was born in Prattville, Alabama on November 15, 1931 to Daniel Carr and Katie (Nixon) Berry. Pete is the youngest of his 7 siblings. After he finished his schooling, he worked on the family farm picking cotton.

Pete followed in his brothers’ footsteps and enlisted in the US Air Force when he was 20 years old. During his time in the military, he served in the Korean War and many other locations.

He met Margaret Fish when he was stationed in England. They married in Mountain Home, October 29, 1960. During their marriage they had two children that he thought the world of, Tracy and Mark. Pete devoted his life to the Lord and served Him in many ways.

After retiring from the Air Force in 1971, Pete went to work Civil Service at the Mountain Home Air Force Base Commissary. He retired from there after 20 years then worked for the Mountain Home School District for 15 years.

Pete is preceded in death by his parents, Daniel and Katie Berry, his siblings Ed, Sarah, O’Dell, Noah, Louise, Dan and Carrie.

Pete is survived by his wife of 62 years, Margaret Berry, daughter Tracy Wenndt (Stan), son Mark Berry (Nicole); his 5 grandchildren, Joel, Derek and Nicholas Wenndt, and Connor and Avery Berry.

The family would like to thank Horizon, Journeys and Keystone Hospice care and all others that cared for him during his illness. A special thank you to Shannon and John Crowe.
