WECRD Meeting - 1.23

After approving their consent agenda, the Western Elmore County Recreation District began the annual restructuring of their board. However, after a very brief discussion, the board elected that each member of the board would retain the positions they held in the previous year. With no changes to the board, discussion began on the WECRD’s website renewals. The board decided to renew the website through GoDaddy through the next year.

This led to the construction update and discussions regarding naming opportunities for the future facility. It was noted that equipment likely would not arrive on-site until the last week of February. Following this, the board discussed the logistics behind naming and sponsorships of rooms, starting blocks, and even the pools themselves. The board discussed potential monetary amounts that would be required for the acquisition of naming rights, and also deliberated about whether to use contracts or memorandums of understanding with entities that wished to sponsor portions of the facility to acquire naming rights. The board appeared to anticipate a high interest from Pioneer Federal Credit Union, and appeared to anticipate a large sum of money from the credit union.
