RSV- What to know

As the number of Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) cases steadily climbs across the country, it becomes increasingly important to educate ourselves on the virus and how to prevent it. Below is a quick breakdown of the “need-to-knows” of RSV.

According the the CDC, RSV is a “...common respiratory virus that usually causes mild, cold-like symptoms”. For adults, RSV is usually unsevere and relatively inconsequential. Though for infants aged three and under, and members of the elderly community, the virus poses a more serious threat. RSV can lead to Bronchiolitis in infants, and can even be life-threatening and fatal.
