9.28.22 - Mountain Home, Idaho — The City of Mountain Home was awarded a grant of $4.5 million from the Department of Defense under the Defense Communities Infrastructure Program (DCIP). The grant also includes a $2 million match from the City of Mountain Home, for a total project amount of $6.5 million.

The additional $2 million match comes from the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA). This money was awarded from the federal government to municipals, to assist in meeting local needs during the coronavirus pandemic. Funds can be used for a variety of projects, including investment in water, sewer, and broadband infrastructure.

“The City of Mountain Home is always proactively thinking about how to sustain growth without financially impacting the current citizen population. Grants and other additional funding resources are how we do that” said Mayor Rich Sykes.
