Construction Mishap at the New Ace Hardware Lot

During construction about an hour ago a piece of heavy equipment hit a power pole inside the construction area that caused the pole to break and lean into another line, holding it in place. This in turn cause a live power line to be draped across Jackson Street. Oncoming traffic drove over the line causing it to snap and break into two pieces of live wire, one in the lane of traffic on Jackson and the second piece resting in the alley across the street behind the bank. All emergency services responded and MHPD help keep additional traffic out of the area until Idaho Power could come and shut the power off. That was accomplished quickly and traffic returned to normal. There were no injuries reported.
