Walk Across America

6.1.22 - Jake Sansing stopped by to visit the Elmore County Sheriff’s Office, as he came thru Mountain Home.

Jake’s story began after he got out of the Army and became homeless. He realized that walking helped his PTSD, so he decided to walk across America. He has traveled from Tennessee to Delaware, California, Florida, Alaska, back to Florida and then back to California. He has also written a book about his experiences. He is currently walking from Oregon to Maine. The goal is to raise enough money to buy land in Oregon and start a free campground for veterans with PTSD.
