President’s Biden and Idaho Leaders release first comments after Russia’s invasion of Ukraine last week

In the State of Idaho and here locally, we as citizens have been watching as this scenario unfolded on the national media the last week. As far away as this may appear, it will affect us as a nation and our economy here locally and is history in the making. In some cases, you may have seen the heartfelt pleas and worries of our Ukrainian neighbors throughout our state. We too share with the world our prayers and condolences to them.

President Joe Biden released his first statement on the early morning of February 24th after Russia launched an offensive military action in Ukraine earlier that morning at approximately midnight our time, calling the start of hostilities an “unprovoked and unjustified attack” that could cause a “catastrophic loss of life.” As the most recent weeks had progressed it had become apparent that it was no longer an if, but a when would Russia launch their attack. In recent news reports, it has been stated that it appeared to be synced with Putin’s what many called “angry and arrogant” speech that morning.
