Joan Rossi Hobbs

Joan Rossi Hobbs, 63, of Mountain Home, passed away at her home on August 20, 2021. A private memorial service will be held. Cremation under the care of Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel.

Joan was born on May 10, 1958, in Hackensack New Jersey, the daughter of Angelo Joseph and Claire Molinelli Rossi. Joan graduated from New Rochelle High School, New York, and State University of New York, Potsdam, where she earned a BA in English.

Joan was employed as a civilian at the Mountain Home Air Force Base where she held the position of Supply Technician for the 366th Logistics Readiness Squadron.

She was coined two times by Air Combat Command for the programs she ran in Customer Support and took deep pride in these awards.

Joan loved many forms of music, being a classically trained pianist and self-taught electric and upright bass player. She was gifted with perfect pitch. Using her talent, she played keyboards for a time in the local rock band 'Thrust'.

Joan is survived by her sisters Andrea Rossi and Lorraine Rossi Sacca, her brother-in-Law: George Filonowicz, her nephew: Edward Sacca and her cousins: Madelyn Rossi, Christopher Rossi, Paul Molinelli.

Joan was a passionate animal lover who is also survived by one dog, Nate, and three cats, Minx, Fido, and Frida. Donations can be made to the Mountain Home Animal Shelter, where Joan was a volunteer dog walker.

The family wishes to extend our sincerest thanks to friends and neighbors for their help and assistance in the final months of Joan's life, with special thanks going to Diana D. Curl and Renee and Ernie Bedont.
