What is with the downtown construction?? I realize this is a small town, but why take away lanes and parking, AND block off entrances and exits from businesses? I had an unexpected appointment on Air Base Road, and it was a little longer than expected. So, when I went from Air Base Road to downtown to return to my job, I sat in the underpass for at least 5 minutes due to the volume of traffic! This is ridiculous! We are NOT a big city!!! While this may not seem like a long time, when you are sitting there, now late getting back to work due to this, it is a very long time! A ridiculous amount of time!! Whose idea was it to take away lanes and parking? Along the way, when there is parking it has a time limit on it like fifteen minutes for one car! There was nothing wrong with the parking before. Why take up space to put grass in? It makes no sense whatsoever! I left a message for the project manager and he called me after hours with a 9 sec message saying, this is my number, I will call you on Monday. Pretty sure you figured it out by now, he never called me again. Incidentally, I had to return to ABR later that same day and the time was much shorter: I only had to wait 4 minutes. Really? This is a huge waste of money and people's time who have lives to get to with no reason to change anything downtown as it worked perfectly before? Why fix what isn't broken? I am quite certain there are other causes the wasted money for this project could have gone to: to HELP people and not cause more problems.
