Ann Fowler Shangle

Ann Fowler Shangle (Schulthess),82, passed away peacefully in her home on Monday, May 10 2021. She was born on January 2, 1939, in Longview, Washington. She attended and graduated from Washington State University. She married Melvin Ray Shangle on March 10, 1961 and had three children Theresa, Clifford, and Alan. They resided in Boulder Colorado, Butte Montana, Salt Lake City Utah, and San Jose California before settling in San Diego California. They moved to Boise Idaho in 1991.

She worked in a variety of fields including nursing and elementary education. She flourished as a retail associate for JC Penney from 1988 until retirement in 2007. She enjoyed baking for her family and creating award winning cross stitch.

She was a devout Christian and attended church events and study groups. Ann was involved in Marriage Encounter in which she and Mel counseled couples in order to strengthen their relationships. She is survived by her sons Clifford and Alan, daughter in law Starr Miller Shangle, and grandchildren Zoe and Ian.

Graveside service will be held at 11:00AM on Thursday, May 13, 2021 at Mountain View Cemetery. Arrangements by Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel.
