Gregory Arthur Schwartz (Greg) passed away peacefully on January 12, 2021 in Mountain Home, with his family by his side. A memorial of his life will be held at Rost Funeral Home in Mountain Home on January 29 at 10:30 am. We encourage those who knew him to attend. Masks and social distancing will be adhered to.

Greg was born in Buffalo, New York on May 7, 1957. He lived in the country with his step brothers and sister until he graduated from Akron Central and enlisted in the Air Force. It was there he met his future wife Theresa and together embarked upon their journey. He served his country with his family by his side from 1975 to 1992, when he quietly retired in Mountain Home. He then took a position with the Idaho Dept. of Corrections that same year and stayed with them until his retirement in 2008. During that time he was the SWAT commander and mentor for many new officers entering the ranks of the department. During his long career he also volunteered with the Elmore county Sheriff's Dept. and IRLEA.

Greg was a family man who put the ones he loved at the forefront of everything he did. He loved fishing and outdoor adventures with friends and his wife, woodworking and mentoring the kids and grandkids. He also enjoyed laughing at the wonderful and goofy moments with his infectious sense of humor. He touched everyone who knew him in ways that won't be easily forgotten. His strength and compassion for those around him was a comforting beacon when things got tough. He will be dearly missed, and forever irreplaceable.

Gregory is survived by his wife Theresa, his children Joshua and Jennifer, and 3 grandchildren Gavin, Robyn and Josephine. He was the proud Great Grandfather to Serenity. He was preceded in death by his parents Gerald and Roberta Schwartz.
